When individuals, objects, or services are faced with a threat, the Dutch government may be called upon to provide security. This protection is part of the national monitoring and security system.

The Hague is known as the seat of the government, home to the Dutch Royal Family, as well as the political and diplomatic center, the international judicial hub, and increasingly, as the location of leading international organizations. This unique environment requires a specialized Monitoring and Security Department in The Hague. Their role is to ensure that diplomats and international organizations can carry out their work freely and securely.

Starting December 2023, Triangular Group Academy, in collaboration with the Police Academy, will provide training for the Monitoring and Security Department in The Hague. This training will focus on the "Camera" and "Camera and Surveillance" units..

The training will begin with the completion of the Special Investigative Officer (BOA) diploma, followed by the following subjects:

  • First Aid (EHBO);
  • Legal framework and powers;
  • Communication skills;
  • Handling problem behavior;
  • Resilience training;
  • Force control training for BOA (RTGB);
  • Surveillance/working in the public domain;
  • English language proficiency;
  • Initial driving training (ROI);
  • VRT (Advanced Tactical Skills);
  • RTGB firearm training;
  • Approaching dangerous armed suspects;
  • Spotter training;
  • Backgrounds in organized crime and corruption.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be able to start working at the Monitoring & Security Department in The Hague..
