Tactical Emergency Casualty Care

The medical education for professionals in the safety or resilience domain!

In the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC-LEO) course of Triangular Group Academy apprentices are trained to carry out tactical and medical actions in situations of increased threat.
Anyone who is confronted with a medical case during the performance of his / her task comes in contact with a tension between the performance of the initial assignment and the provision of necessary medical care. In other words, a non-medically trained person is exposed to chosing between acting tactical and medical. Correctly assessing the situation is of great importance here, because the personal safety of the person present and that of the victim determines which actions fit within the risk picture of the situation that has arisen.
In the TECC-LEO training, students are trained according to an evidence-based protocol on how to stabilize victims or ensure a rapid removal of injuries. The TECC-LEO training lasts two days and can be extended with additional training days in which, for deepening, different scenarios tailored to the professional context are offered.

The training finishes with a certificate recognized by NAEMT. This certificate is valid for 4 years.

TECC-LEO

TECC | Law Enforcement Officers

During the 2 day TECC Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) course of Triangular Group Academy law enforcement officers are trained to provide tactical and medical first-aid in high-threat situations.

In situations with a high risk level, such as a terroristic attack, the area around the attack ('hot zone') is closed for medical providers, because their safety cannot be guaranteed. It is therefore impossible for emergency services to treat victims, causing law enforcement officers to treat or stabilize the wounded for transport. In the TECC-LEO course law enforcement officers are trained according to an evidenc-based protocol to act in such situations.

The TECC-LEO training takes two days and can be extended with additional days of training in which different scenarios, tailored to the professional context, are offered for in-depth study.

The course finishes with a certificate recognized by NAEMT and is valid for 4 years.

Module for covert firearm carriers

In addition to TECC-LEO training, a course for covert firearm carriers is offered. In this training, the theory of tactical-medical action without a TECC-kit or other materials for pre-hospital trauma care is discussed. The theory is followed by scenario training that is tailored to the professional context of covert firearms users. 

TECC-LEO Fire Brigade

In Triangular Group Academy’s Tactical Medical Emergency Care training course, firefighters are trained to perform tactical and medical operations in crisis situations. In high-risk situations, medical care providers often cannot come to the scene. Firefighters must then stabilize the wounded themselves and possibly transport them. The TECC LEO Fire Brigade training is given on the basis of the TECC-protocol with the latest teaching materials. The training courses cover specific skills aimed at stabilizing the injured in a dangerous or threatening environment. Situational awareness, or environmental awareness and anticipation, is a central concept during the training. The fight against terrorism is also dealt with extensively. The TECC-protocol is aimed at a better alignment with the professional assistance provided by ambulance nurses. Ambulance nurses in the Netherlands are also tactically/medically trained in accordance with the TECC-protocol. The course finishes with a certificate recognized by NAEMT and is valid for 4 years.

TECC-LEO Security

In TGA's Tactical Medical Emergency Care training course, security guards (among others) are trained to perform tactical and medical operations in high-risk situations. In high-risk or high-stress environments, the ability to act tactically / medical is essential. The training course is based on the TECC-protocol and covers specific skills aimed at stabilizing an injured individual in a dangerous or threatening environment. Situational awareness is a central concept throughout the course. With Tactical Medical Emergency Care training, employees are prepared to save lives in a variety of (crisis) situations. To accomplish this goal and further our training courses, TGA uses the latest teaching resources. The course finishes with a certificate recognized by NAEMT and is valid for 4 years.
