The Triangular Group Academy provides instruction capacity and tactical-medical training programmes for firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Our trainers are experienced in working and performing medical procedures in threatening situations. We link theory and practice to real-life scenarios in which the participants may find themselves one day. This is how we train firefighters and EMTs to do their jobs in crisis situations.
The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care training programme is designed for medical personnel. During TGA’s TECC programme, participants are trained to perform medical procedures during increased-threat situations based on the MARCH protocol. Upon completion of the TECC programme, participants receive a certificate recognised by the NAEMT, which is valid for 4 years.
The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care - Law Enforcement Officer training programme is designed for personnel bearing firearms. During TGA’s TECC-LEO programme, participants are trained to perform tactical and medical procedures during increased-threat situations based on the MARCH protocol. Upon completion of the TECC_LEO programme, participants receive a certificate recognised by the NAEMT, which is valid for 4 years.
The MFR programme teaches participants the basics of administering first aid, such as assessing the situation, assessing the patient's condition, performing CPR and stabilising injuries. The programme focuses on handling haemorrhages, respiratory problems, and other emergency medical situations.
The Dutch National Protocol for Life-Saving Actions for Firefighters (LPLHB) is used as a guideline for the actions firefighters can take in medical emergency situations. The LPLHB programme was developed in collaboration with paramedic services and other medical professionals to provide a standardised approach for firefighters in providing life-saving care
The Train-the-Trainer programme is aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of medical professionals and enabling them to train other professionals effectively as well. This programme includes developing educational plans, instruction techniques, evaluation methods, and presentation skills.
All medical specialist trainers hired by TGA have operational experience, are PHTLS and TCCC trained, and have provided medical care in high-threat situations. As they are experienced in making choices under stressful circumstances and by focusing on real-life and recognisable scenarios during the training sessions, our participants can put all they learn into practice right away.
