Triangular Group Academy offers in-depth and discreet research into the actual cause of safety and security issues within (mental) healthcare insitutions. This research is carried out by experienced professionals keeping different perspectives in mind (holistic). This involves looking at which measures are appropriate and where policy deviates from practice. We map out the safety risks and offer concrete recommendations to limit the risks and reduce the problems. In the past, our recommendations have led to a structural reduction in the number of violent incidents and a reduction in absenteeism and sick leave among employees. Our goal is an improved safety experience for healthcare providers & eacute; n clients & egrave; n.
Triangular Group Academy employs experienced safety advisers who support healthcare institutions in improving safety perception and reducing safety risks. A safety advisor can support healthcare providers & ‘coaching on the job’ offer and support, evaluate and provide feedback in the event of an incident. In addition, a security adviser can de-escalate violent incidents. Support and coaching from a safety adviser gives caregivers a feeling of safety and reduces sick leave and absenteeism. In addition, a safety adviser can provide a monthly safety report with recommendations to management. The safety adviser works preventively on a situation in which the entire healthcare environment is improved. A safety adviser is not a care guard or care security officer, but looks to create a situation in which the safety risks have been reduced to an acceptable level through preventive measures.
The 24/7 security point of support is Triangular Group Academy's most comprehensive safety solution for healthcare institutions. The security counter can be reached 24/7 and is also physically present on location for the majority of the day / night. A security adviser(s) at the security counter can offer physical support by taking action in case of incidents (de-escalating), and if necessary, can provide aftercare. In addition, the security counter advises on all safety and security issues and, every month, advice for a safer healthcare environment is provided. The security counter also supports implementation of the latter. The result is an improvement in safety perception of staff and clients and a reduction in the number of incidents and a significant improvement in employee satisfaction and absenteeism. Frequent deployment of police is also decreased due to the use of a security counter, since the security counter coordinates local requests.
In the training ‘resilience training and dealing with aggression’, trainees learn to recognize deviant behavior and subsequently anticipate it. By correctly reacting to signals, a spiral of violence can be broken at an early stage. When employees unexpectedly end up in a violent or threatening situation, it is important that there is situational awareness. The trainee learns to make the decision to leave an unsafe situation in a secure way to get help or to actively de-escalate directly. This training is realistic and fully tailored to the professional context. Thanks to their experience, the instructors have the ability to put themselves in the shoes of the trainees. Both the theoretical and the practical scenarios of this training are tailor-made to the requirements of the client.
